I packed my suitcase, booked my ticket and began my journey to bring the abaya to life.✈️
The make or break part of the process is choosing the perfect material. High-quality and luxury material is what I was going for. Satin! It was like one of those Eureka moments. So that’s how my journey began.
On a scorching hot day In a busy city I barely knew, I went from shop to shop to source a high-quality satin material that matched the image in my head.
After hours of non-stop exploring, no food or breaks, I finally came across a small market shop, with an old man who was certain he could help. After digging through multiple rolls of fabric, he handed me a shimmery silky black fabric. From the moment my fingers felt the material I knew it was the one. 🥰
With the material secured, it was time to head to the tailors and share my design with him.🤭 And now we play the waiting game, while the magic happens. There I was again constantly thinking about this design, waiting and anticipating. Praying that it looks like the image in my head.
